My Dog Duke

Even though I think my dog Duke is pretty amazing anyway, my neighbour thinks so too. Duke is not known to be much of a barker, however in the very early hours one morning, he was barking like crazy near my bedroom window, and it was the type of unrelenting bark which makes you want to get up and have a look at just what’s going on out there. So I peeped through the blinds to see 3 people trying to jump over the fence between us and our next door neighbour in an attempt to get to his boat which was parked under his carport. Duke wasn’t too happy and was trying to scale the fence to get to them. By the time my husband got up, turned on all our backyard lights and yelled at the intruders next door to leave, they were already starting to retreat. I think when they started climbing the fence they didn’t release we had Duke and I believe he was making them pretty nervous with his deep bark and sheer size. We found out the next day from our neighbour that he wasn’t home at the time and if it wasn’t for Duke, he would have been burgled for sure.
