Have you ever come home to this! Looks like this cute little dog has had a bit of fun at home alone!

First released in 1940 The Biscuit Eater was re-released as a remake in 1972 by Walt Disney and is the last “one Boy and his Animal” themed movie made by Disney. This small unpretentious film is a genuinely moving experience. We dare you to watch this with dry eyes!  The story revolves around a German Wirehaired Pointer named Moreover who is given to a gas station clerk, but Lonnie (Johnny Whitaker) and his best friend Tex regain possession of the dog where a strong relationship develops with the red-headed Lonnie and the dog.  Considered untrainable by its first owner, Lonnie's veterinarian father, the two twelve-year old boys take the time to train Moreover to be a prize-winning bird pointer and enter him in the state championship field trial. Moreover does well, and an incident makes the boys think that Lonnie's father will lose his bird training job if his dog, last year's champion SilverBelle, loses to their dark horse entry. As you might expect from a Disney movie, all turns out well in the end.

Have you noticed that your dog's urination burns your lawn?  To solve this problem, give your dog 1/2 - 1 cup of tomato juice every day.  This can be given either over their food or just as a drink in their bowl.

The busy little Cocker Spaniel is gentle and affectionate, full of life, exuberant and friendly and just thrives on human companionship, wanting nothing more than to please its owners.  Well suited for families and singles alike, these dogs get on well with children and other animals. They are well known for their easy going nature and ever wagging tail. An excellent companion because of their adaptability, whether kept inside or outside the house, as they do not drop hair. Although not noted for being 'diggers', some may become accomplished escape artists while individual dogs are known to climb fences!  Requiring regular daily exercise such as a walk or an energetic game, they are good swimmers and great watch dogs.  Great with families and older people, these dogs are adaptable and robust.

Did You Know?

It is a myth that dogs are color blind. Dogs can actually see in color but not as vividly as humans. It is similar to our vision at dusk. They do have better low-light vision than humans because of a special light-reflecting layer behind their retinas.  A German Shepherd guide dog led her blind companion the entire 2100 mile Applachian Trail.

What can you use to brush dog’s teeth that can be found in your home?

Brushing your dog’s teeth is as simple as using one of your old toothbrushes and making up a solution of lightly salted warm water, dipping the toothbrush into that and gently brushing away. Dogs don't mind the taste of salty water and your dog will be quite happy to open its mouth for you to brush his teeth. I wouldn't recommend using human toothpaste as it is too strong for a dog’s delicate mouth. It is never too late to start brushing your dog’s teeth; every second day would be great, but once a week is better than not at all. It will save your dog from having dental problems when it gets older and you the expense of having extra vet bills.

Charles & the Genie

While Prince Charles was reversing his Land Rover out of the garage he ran over the Queen’s favourite Corgi.  Upon getting out of the car he saw the dog was squashed to a pulp.  Suddenly a Genie popped up and said to the Prince “I can give you one wish. What would you like? The Prince replied “This is mummy’s favourite dog, you just must bring it back to life!” The Genie said “Lets have a look at the dog.” “Oh no, nothing can be done to help this dog, there was too much damage done when you ran over it.” “But you just must be able to do something, it is mummy’s favourite.” Said the prince. “I am sorry” said the Genie, “it’s just impossible to bring it back to life.” “Ok then” said the Prince, “But I do still have a wish?” "Yes” said the Genie. “Well then” said the Prince, “I am marrying Camilla in April, could you make her as beautiful as Diana was?” The Genie thought for a while then said “Let’s have another look at the dog.”

If your dog is too fat, you are not getting enough exercise!
