This 2008 Disney movie is about a talking dog, Chloe (voice by Drew Barrymore), pooch of a mega rich cosmetics mogul (Jamie Lee Curtis).  When the impulsive niece combines dog sitting with a vacation in Mexico, Chloe is lost south of the border. Enter Chloe’s Chihuahua admirer, Papi who embarks on a mission to bring her back home. However in the meantime, Chloe must contend with the rough and tumble side of things, learning a few important lessons along the way.  Beverley Hills Chihuahua is an amusing diversion that is custom made for canine lovers!

Scent Markers

Did you know that dogs use scent to mark their territory and although urine is the most obvious scent marker, chemicals in the anal or scent sacs are just as important.  Every time a dog passes a stool, muscles around the anus contract, anointing the droppings with scent-sac essence.  Other dogs sniff this scent and information is transmitted. These important scent-marking glands need frequent grooming.  Small dogs discharge blocked anal sacs by way of dragging their bottoms along the grass, carpet, or floor, whereas larger dogs lick until the sacs unblock. If you notice your dog persistently rubbing itself along the ground or licking itself it may be unable to unblock its anal sacs. Your vet will be able to show you how to unblock them.

It wasn’t until the 16th century when reference was made to a "low crooked-legged" dog called a little burrow dog that they originated. Nowadays it goes by the name Dachshund and has found its real niche as a

family pet, steadily rising in popularity to hold a place as one of the most popular breeds. There are three varieties, the short-haired, the wired-haired, and the long-haired and also three sizes the Standard, Miniature and Toy. These dogs are very outgoing and possess loads of personality. Because of its small, neat size they make an ideal housedog and frequently is the chosen companion and reliable watchdog of elderly people, however they are not recommended for children. Yard size is unimportant but for dogs which otherwise live indoors permanently a daily walk of 30 minutes would be ideal.

Help!  My dog has constipation?

This could be diet related, so to avoid further future problems you may have to look at changing your dog's diet. If you feed only dry dog food, try adding a cup of warm water to your dog’s food about 15 minutes before feeding him. Ideally fresh raw meats are best with some grated carrot and cooked rice mixed in with it.  For the current problem you have, I would try feeding your dog a cup of milk.  If no improvement seek veterinary advice.

The Story of Creation as told by a Dog: On the first day of creation, God created a dog.  On the second day, God created man to serve dogs. On the third day, God created honest toil so that man could labour to take care of dogs. On the fourth day, God created all other animals as potential food for dogs. On the fifth day, God created veterinary science to take care of dogs' health and send man broke. On the sixth day, God created the ball so that the dog may or may not fetch it. On the seven day of creation, God tried to rest but he had to walk the dog!
