Our Little Darlings
Only One Half - Coco
While my husband goes away for weeks at a time, Mango, is my constant companion. She is a bitzer who is a great guard dog although I wanted more of a lap dog. I got that too I admit. The contrast is amazing. One minute she is in the deepest sleep, the next defending our territory! For a small dog, she has a big bark that makes us all jump, even our other dog. She doesn't really do much, endearing little soul. If she doesn't want to do something she won't. It's as simple as that. She can't be flattered, scolded, molly coddled into doing anything. She just doesn't see the point of doing something she doesn't want to do, and that's that! She really is the sweetest dog though. When my elderly mother comes to stay Mango sleeps with her; as if to offer comfort. Never far from my side, she warms our hearts and feeds our soul. She really does love us and she is obedient in her own way. Those big brown eyes just melt your heart.
Our other dog Coco, is totally wired for fun and play. She wants our food, our bed, our attention. Mostly our attention. Her expression is painted on her adorable little face "let's play"?. We are amazed she sleeps at all, which is a blessing for us. She is the first to wake up in the mornings just to remind us to feed and play with her. How could two dogs be so different. Coco will play with anything she finds. An old sock, balls, grapes and definitely wants to involve you in all the fun. We should have called her Ever Ready but instead we call her Coco (Loco).
