My Special Visitor

One afternoon this weary looking dog wandered into my yard. At first I thought maybe he was lost however, he wore a collar and looked well fed, so I instantly knew that he had a caring and loving home nearby.

When he slowly walked over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into the house, slowly walked down the hall and contently curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

Surprisingly an hour later, he was at the front door waiting for me to let him out. I couldn’t believe it when at the same time the very next day he was back. He greeted me, waited for his pat then continued to walk inside and resume his spot in the hall where he again slept for about an hour. This ritual continued on and off for a few weeks. Curious, I decided to attach a note to his collar asking ‘I would like to know who owns this sweet, lovable dog and wonder if you know that almost every afternoon your dog comes over to my house for a nap.’

When the dog arrived back the next day, my note was replaced with another which said ‘He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 and he is trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?’
