Don't Go - I Have To! (Our Amazing German Shepherd Diana)

by Katrin
(Ireland,Dublin)

This is our amazing dog story!

Right, well my mom said we are going for holidays to my uncle's place. I asked mom "is Diana coming?" (Diana is my German Shepherd.) I hoped for the answer I wanted. We took Diana everywhere with us since we have a van especially for her. Diana didn't ask for much and she was really well trained since my dad works as a dog trainer in the police.

"No, sorry we are going there for two months and Diana won't be able to travel this much" my mom told me. Her face showing disappointment as we both loved Diana like our daughter. My face fell. My dad tried to cheer me up by saying she will be staying at my grandparent's farm and that she will have loads of fun there with Wibbly, Stacy and Wolfy, their three dogs.

That made me feel a bit better. I looked at Diana who knew what was happening. Her eyes pleaded with me, "Dont go, please I won't manage...". I knew they did. So I went to lie my head on her ribs lightly and said, "sorry but I have no choice!". Yes I talk to my dog everyday of my life.

So we went there and when we got there, I managed to cheer up. Two weeks later there was a howl at the door at two oclock in the night. I was the one to hear it first so I slid down the stairs quietly and opened the door slightly.

I looked around seeing nothing at all. Then a yelp came from beside the wall. My head flew around frightened I looked at the figure lying there. I ran up to her. It was Diana! She probably broke out and walked for two weeks. Diana had cuts on her paws. Her injuries were either caused by her journey or other dogs.

We were so amazed by her. From that time on we took here everywhere with us. We weren't cross with her. We were just shocked and amazed that she appeared at my uncle's place!
