Hachiko

Based on a true story, this movie, Hachiko, starring the charming Richard Gere will truly pull at your heart strings. This highly emotive drama captures the essence of a dog's faith, devotion and undying love of his owner. Richard Gere who stumbles across the abandoned Akita on his way home from work, takes him home and promises his wife that it will only be for one night. However, a strong bond quickly develops between the two, so strong that this beautiful dog devotes his entire life to his owner. Get the tissues ready, the tears will be flowing.

GREAT DANE

The Great Dane is one of the largest dog breeds in the world and displays itself with dignity, strength and elegance. This trusted and loyal companion makes a great housedog and has an excellent disposition. They are friendly, affectionate, happy, outgoing and just adore spending time with their human companions. Being territorial, most will bark at strangers on their property until introduced. These dogs cannot be just left in a backyard and ignored; they thrive on human interaction and love to be part of the family.

Q Can dogs eat bananas?

A Dogs love fruit and like us it is very good for them, just as long as you don't overdo it. Most dog’s love apples also, you can just quarter them up and feed it to them as a healthy treat.

Have a question you want answered, then email us.

My neighbour found out that her dog, a Schnauzer could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian. The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear fine. The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the chemist and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month.

The lady went to the chemist and bought some "Nair" hair remover. At the register, the pharmacist told her "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days."

The lady said "I'm not using it under my arms."

The pharmacist then said "Well, if you're using it on your legs, don't shave for a couple of days."

The lady replied "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my Schnauzer."

The pharmacist said "Well, in that case, stay off your bicycle for about a week."

“The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too!" - Samuel Butler
